VIBPARTS PORTABLE SOLUTION SYSTEM
ASSEMBLY The system is shipped with the Injection Loop and the Hose (to the Finisher) detached. The picture above shows the placement of these items. On the rear of the pump you will find a hose fitting, below the fitting for the Injection Loop, directed off at a right angle. A hose is included that can be connected here to direct overflow compound into a container when priming the pump. Extra tubing is provided (for replacement purposes) for the Injection Loop. The Suction Hose is not shown above. It is soft, clear tubing and it attaches at the bottom of the pump head. The system is shipped with a "Garden Hose" fitting for the water supply. This can be removed if you decide to use an alternative connection. The Feet are attached to the base with sheet metal screws. These can easily be removed, or moved to a better location on the base. The Electrical Box has a 3.15 Amp fuse between the power supply cord and the switch. It is accessed by removing the four screws from the front cover. Unplug the system from your power source before opening the cover. 12 GPH is our part # 10009.0, 22 GPH is our part # 100010.0
OPERATION Place the system where the Suction line can be conveniently dropped into your compound container. If you have a closed container such as a drum or closed pail, the system can easily sit on the top of your container. The Suction Line is long enough to reach the bottom of a drum when used in this manner. Connect your water source to the water pipe ahead of the solenoid valve. Extend the discharge hose to your finishing machine and clip it to the edge of the machine. Connect the Electrical Plug to your power source and then turn the switch on. To prime the Compound Pump turn the black knurled knob (below the injection loop fitting) out to allow air to be expelled. When the compound climbs up to this fitting and starts squirting, out turn the knob in. The Injection loop will never fill completely but you will be able to see the compound surge over the top of the loop. If you have problems priming the pump here is a suggestion: Put compound, or water, in a small pail. Insert the suction fitting in the pail and elevate the pail above the level of the pump head until the pump primes itself. SETTING THE COMPOUND DELIVERY RATE
Pumps with a Model number that start with 12 have a 12 GPD pump. Model numbers starting with 24 have a 24 GPD pump. Use the chart below to determine the approximate amount of ounces per hour the pump delivers at a given setting. These settings are determined using distilled water media. In most cases the compound will have a viscosity which will result in a lower delivery rate than shown in the chart.
To verify delivery rates:
If your machine does not have a flow meter you can determine total flow rate, compound and water, by catching water from each spray nozzle for thirty seconds. The total amount of water you catch, in ounces, roughly equals gallons per hour.
The Compound Pump has two knobs, one for the length of the stroke and the other for the frequency of the pulses. It is preferable to keep the "Stroke" setting at or above 50%, if possible, as it delivers better accuracy at higher settings.
COMPOUND DELIVERY RATE TABLE - IN OUNCES PER HOUR
PUMP SIZE - TWELVE GALLONS PER DAY
24 GPD pumps are double the output shown below.
MAINTAINENCE If the pump won’t "click" and the water valve doesn’t open check the fuse in the grey enclosure. It is a 3.15 amp, 5x20mm slow-blow fuse. If a plastic hose splits cut off a short section and warm the end before re-connecting to the tapered fitting. Some replacement hose is included with the pump. The pump depends on ceramic ball check valves to operate. If a fitting is removed and the ball lost the pump won’t operate until the ball is replaced. Do not use pliers or a wrench on the plastic fittings. If you must remove the flowmeter (for cleaning, for instance) disconnect the swivel fittings from the rear of the meter before removing it. See instructions included with this pump by the flowmeter manufacturer. If you have any questions, or need repair parts contact us at: Vibparts Corp 15820 S.
